Dee married Richard J Alden on May 4, 1946; the young couple took in a foster child named Jack, when Dee became pregnant the agency had them return Jack, which was apparently the procedure at that time. Dee and Dick went on to have eight children, Patricia, Kathleen, Margaret, Marianne, Diane, Joseph, Richard and Thomas.
Dee and Dick lived in Spokane for a few years after getting married and then they moved east to Newark, Ohio which was a small town in those days. In the late 1960's they packed up and moved to Concord, California so Dick could work making the electric third rail for BART. They joined St. Bonaventure Church in Concord.
Dee maintained rose bushes in the front of their home on Woodland Drive, her favorite flower were yellow roses. She also had a raised garden bed and fruit trees in the backyard.
At the time of her death Dee was survived by her husband, Dick. Daughters Patsy (and her husband Larry), Kathy, Peggy (and her husband Robert), Marianne, Diane; sons, Joe (and his wife Pam), Rich (and his wife Liz), Tom (and his wife Patty). Grandchildren Megan, Kathy, Bridget, Kurt, Todd, Dennis, Theri, Ryan, Amanda, Amy, and Tommy. Dee was also survived by her sister "Toots".
