Bobby Davis was married to Evelyn ? and had two children, Billy Ray and Debbie Davis. When Billy Ray and Debbie were 18 and over, Bobby and Evelyn divorced. Bobby Davis married my mother Betty McDaniel in 1974 and became became a father to her five children ranging in age from about 2-14. That alone speaks alot about his character. The two youngest children, Billy and Tommy, only knew one daddy, and that was Bobby. Our biological father died in a car accident when they were very young. The other three children Ronnie, Barbara(myself), and Linda were old enough to remember their dad, but we will tell you that we had the best stepfather in the world and that he was loved very much. Later on in life mama and Bobby sadly divorced after many yrs. together. We did not see Bobby like we should have for several different reasons. I had moved back to Newnan in 1989 and after the death of our mom, he came to see us more often. He brought me some deer meat several years and one thing he said while he was sick is "who is going to get you some deer meat now". Bobby lived many years with Sarah Ann and then they married. He then had two more step children Curtis and Patricia. Bobby was a wonderful man. He worked hard at work and home to do what needed to be done. At the end of the day we might find some time to wrestle around though. He loved to fish and hunt and would do that every chance that he got. Bobby became sick with cancer and me and my husband Curtis spent a lot of time with him and Sarah.. A heart warming and fond memory that I have from that period of time is when me and Curtis took him some soup and corn bread while he was in the hospital. We left the room for something and when we got back, Bobby had ate almost all of that big bowl of soup and was wearing some (alot) of the broth on his top lip. I should have took him some potted meat or a tomatoe sandwich, also. We were with him the day he died but we had left to go to the store and he passed away before we returned. This was meant to be, I had already seen my mother and grandmother die. Bobby would not have wanted that to happen again. His ashes are with his daughter Debbie 'Davis Hudson. We love and miss you and thank you for being there for us...
