Tommy's birth location is an interesting mystery. His siblings were all born in Ohio, mostly in Belmont County. The 1920 census, when Tommy was 4, says he was born in Ohio, as do most other paper records. However, the 1940 census, Tommy's WWII enlistment registration card and his obituary all say Oklahoma (the WWII enlistment card says "Colton, Oklahoma" which doesn't exist when you look it up). We'll leave him as a man of mystery from Oklahoma -- for now!
