Henry was the son of Michael Sprenkel (Sprengel, Sprenckel), who was the immigrant ancestor.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
(1) Many researchers believe that Henry's father Michael was married only once and that his wife was named Anna Margaretha Miller. However, other researchers believe Michael married twice, 1st to Ann or Anna Miller, the daughter of Rudy Miller, and 2nd to a woman named Margaretha. Rudy Miller's will mentions a daughter Ann and a son-in-law Mikell Springle. Michael's probate records show his widow as Margaret or Margaretha.

The desire to have a "neat package" may be the origin of the name "Anna Margaretha." In the German naming pattern someone who was baptized as "Anna Margaretha" would be known as Margaretha, not Ann or Anna.

It may be that Rudy Miller's daughter Ann died at some time after his death in 1732 and that Michael then married a woman named Margaretha.

(2) There is no evidence or documentation that Henry's father Michael (the immigrant) was the son of parents named Johannes Henricus Sprenckel and Charit Spiess. You will see those names tossed about the internet but NO documentation has ever been presented. Note also that no one knows when Henry's father Michael was born, it is only estimated.

------

Deed records show that Henry turned 21 in 1764. He was born in Hellam Twp. in what was then Lancaster Co. He died in Germany Twp., Adams Co., PA. He also lived in Maryland for a time.

Henry married Anna Mary Nunemaker. The spelling of her surname has many variations.

Nine children are mentioned in Henry's will: Johan Peter ("Peter"); Anna Margareth (Keefer); Anna Maria (Miller, Forney); Susannah (Fox); Henry; Michael; George; Elizabeth (Wunder); & Catherine (Hayes).
