Charles Edward Barnes was the son of Tracy P Barnes 1827 and Mary Prudence Cottrell.

His parents met and married in Alden, Erie County, New York. In 1870 the family moved to Oskosh, Winnebago County, Wisconsin. There Charles met and married Josephine Ising in 1879.

The couple lived in Oshkosh until about 1905 when they moved to Weyauwega, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. By 1910 they moved to Las Animas County, Colorado, where they lived the rest of their lives. Charles operated an amusement park in Trinidad.

They had six children: Wylie Leon 1879, Lida Belle 1881-1884, Myrtle 1885-1890, Clyde Edward 1888, Mary Tracy "Molly" (Aloise) Degurse 1890, and Ira 1892.

Charles Barnes does not have a headstone, but the area in the cemetery where he as buried is known. Waiting for someone to take a picture of the area.
