***********************************
1st marriage to Anna Marie Steffen on 03 Dec 1863 in Gasconade County, Missouri (Ancestry). Appears she died between 1880-1881. Known children Daniel, Sophia, Minnie, Caroline (born abt 1873 in 1880 census, died before May 1901 not listed in her father's will).

2nd marriage to Hannah Heithold about 1881. Her first name may have actually been Johanna (listed as such on one birth record and death certificate of son, John Edwin Wehmeyer). Children: Lusena, Benjamin, William, Sophia, Edwin (aka John Edwin). There is Missouri birth record of a male son, born 31 October 1884 in Berger, Gasconade County. While the 1900 census indicates they had been married 17 years, John Edwin Wehmeyer was born in July 1882, so the correct marriage year is most likely 1881.
