He was also a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Unitarian Fellowship, Elks Lodge, The Railroad Superintendents Association and the American Legion. He was married to Vernette Aurdelle Holt (11/14/29 - 04/12/2001) on July 21, 1950 Together they raised three children. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathryn.
