Olive Mae Anderson, 89, of Wadena, MN, formerly of Henning, died December 24, 2009 at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena. Mrs. Anderson (Olive Mae Heard) was born June 7, 1920 to Arthur and Ella (Johnson) Heard in Inman Township in Ottertail County, MN. She graduated from Henning High School. She married Lloyd Anderson August 11, 1940 in Deer Creek. Before moving to Wadena, Olive worked at the drug store in Henning while farming with her husband. She was a great seamstress and this interest in clothes led to her jobs at the Cutie Shop, a children's clothing store, and Pamida where she worked in the men's department for several years before retiring. Raising her family was her priority. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Several of her interests included reading, embroidery, and crossword puzzles. Summers were occupied by gardening and canning. Church activities and having coffee with her neighbors were also very important to Olive. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her children, a son, Jerry (Gwen) Anderson of Wadena, daughters Jean Dorman, of Wadena, and Joyce (Lyndon) Ricke of Hastings; brother David (Doris) Heard of Henning; three grandchildren, Stace Anderson of St. Paul, Ryan (Alicia) Dorman of Osakis, and Erica Dorman Colton of Carlos; and eight great-grandchildren. Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, of 63 years; her parents; her brothers Orville and Dean Heard; and her sister Marjorie Hessel. Funeral services were held at Southbrook Baptist Church in Wadena, with Pastor Jacob Heppner and Pastor Kevin Albertson officiating. Interment was at Inman Cemetery in Inman Township. Pallbearers were Ryan Dorman, Stace Anderson, Jim Eckoff, Dennis Heard, Ron Piepkorn, and Adrian Erickson.
