Billy L. "Bill" Andrews, 74, of Scammon, KS., passed away at 10:30 p.m., Monday, January 26, 2009, at Cornerstone Village, in Pittsburg, Ks.
He was born August 28, 1934, at Weir, KS., to Willard Leroy and Jenny Marie Groves Andrews.
He attended school at Weir and Roseland graduating from Columbus High School in 1953.
On March 6, 1965, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Brenner at Pittsburg, KS. She preceded him in death September 8, 2008.
Bill was a self employed as a farmer for most of his life. He also worked on the Road and Maintenance crew for Cherokee County.
Membership was held in First Presbyterian Church in Scammon, Black Diamond Masonic Lodge #274 in Weir, Columbus, McCune and Producers Coop in Girard.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Willard Andrews of Pittsburg.; a daughter, Patricia Lynn Woods and husband Jeff of Chicopee, KS; four brothers Bobby R. Andrews his twin brother of Webb City, MO., Buddy L. Andrews, Bruce W. Andrews and Larry G. Andrews all of Columbus, KS; a Sister, Bonnie J. Webb of Roseland, KS; Two granddaughters Ashley Caldwell and Morgan Woods: three grandsons, Zachary, Nathan, and Aaron Woods and a great grandson, Gavin Caldwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Betty Marie Guison.
Services for Billy Andrews will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 31), at the Brenner Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Hosey Cemetery, west of Weir, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Masonic services will be provided by the Black Diamond Lodge #247 of Weir at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The family suggests memorials to Angels Among US. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
