Orangeburg - Dorothy L. Harley, 77, died Wednesday in an Orangeburg nursing home. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Northside Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Thompson Funeral Home, will be in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Harley was born in Bowman, a daughter of John Patrick and Rhodie Austin Patrick. She was a member of Woodmen of the World and served as a former chairman of the Senior Citizens Council of Aging. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Ralph Hughes and Richard W. Barr, both of Orangeburg; two stepsons, David Barr of Orangeburg and James L. Barr of Austin, Texas; two stepdaughters, Betty Davis and Vonnell Pensel, both of Orangeburg; five sisters, Earther L. Wilgus of Charleston, Lula M. Spurrier of Charleston, Johnnie R. Rawls of Atlanta, Simmie McAlhany of Orangeburg and Georgia L. Irick of Bowman; two brothers, Herbert Patrick of Orangeburg and Robert Patrick of Bowman; four grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren. © The Post and Courier, Charleston, SC, 24 Aug 1995
