. Constantine CHADWICK was born on 22 Jul 1826 in Randolph, Orange, Vermont.After completing his studies in the common schools, he began to learn his trade of carpenter and joiner with his father, and remained with him until 1848, when he moved to Bethel, locating in the western part of the town, and followed his trade until the Civil War. He enlisted in Company H, Eleventh Vermont Volunteers, and served under Captain J. D. Rich. He was wounded by a minnie ball at Cold harbor, from the effect of which he lost his arm. He was in the hospital at Washington for some time, and after being transferred to Montpelier in December, 1864, he was discharged from the service in June 1865. Mr. Chadwick now resides in the East village, where he moved in 1875. He was married to GILSON on 1 Sep 1846. GILSON died on 10 Apr 1894. The Illustrated Historical Souvenir of Bethel, Vermont.
