Fred B. Anspach, 97, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, in his home. Born on June 4, 1913, in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late John and Clara Aungst Anspach. He was a member of Jacob's Lutheran Church in Pine Grove. He was a 60 year member of the Pine Grove American Legion Post 374 and a member of the Pine Grove Fish & Game. Fred was a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Navy as a seaman 2nd Class, and received the Purple Heart Award. He was a self employed miner and farmer, and worked for A-1 construction. Preceding him in death were his wife of 64 years, Anna L. Stupp Anspach, on October 17, 2004; a daughter, Carol A. Deichert in 1988; seven brothers, Paul N. Anspach, William Anspach, John Anspach, George Anspach, Al Anspach, Jay Anspach, and Edward Anspach; and two sisters, Sallie Miller and Margaret Lehman. Surviving are a brother, Bruce Anspach of Lebanon; son-inlaw, James Deichert of Lancaster; nieces and nephews; and his caregiver, Tammy Kutsey. Services will be held at Jacob's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Oldland officiating. Friends will be received Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will be in Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jacob's Lutheran Church Improvement Fund, c/o Karen Smith, P. O. Box 8, Pine Grove, PA 17963. The H. L.
