Gersham C. Cunningham was born in Virginia in 1792, have also seen a 1791 date do not have a month. He moved to Ohio abt. 1820, he moved with his daughter Sarah Cunningham Ford to Iowa in Black Hawk County in his later years. WPA lists his grave as:add West blk 4 to 11 Washington Chapel. His daughter and son in law Stephen and some of his grandchildren are buried there also. blk 4 lot 11. His wife's name was Lodema b. 1796 in Virginia, they had seven children. Sarah Cunningham Ford b. 1818 in Virginia, John Cunningham 1820 in Ohio James 1830 Ohio, Deborah 1832 Ohio, Leoiza 1835 Ohio, Stephen 1838 Ohio, Katherine, 1841 Ohio. I have heard there was a first wife and Sarah and John Cunningham may have been from that marriage, I have found no definitive proof of that.
