The following is from the Wisconsin Rapids, WI, The Daily Tribune of 18 Aug 1976:

Mr. and Mrs. George A. Dibble, Sr., Pittsville, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Aug. 8 from 1-5 p.m., at the Pittsville American Legion Hall. A full dinner and supper were served to 250 relatives and friends.

Dibble, the son of Wilbur and Ida Dibble, was born on Feb. 12, 1902, in Granada, Minn. His wife, the former Irene A. Dawes, was born on June 27, 1902, in Wood County, the daughter of William and Lucy Dawes.

They were married on Aug. 10, 1926, in a farmhouse at Waltham, Minn. He worked at Hormel Packaging Co., Austin, Minn.: they lived in Udelpho, Minn., for one year, and then they farmed east of Pittsville for 35 years. He retired in 1975, and they are presently living north of Pittsville.

One daughter, Gladys, died in 1938. All of the remaining children and their families were present. They are Mrs. Wayne (Marion) Toney, Silver City, N.M.; William Dibble, Anderson, Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Bessie) Krueger, Pittsville; Mrs. Richard (Frances) Luther, Granton; George Dibble Jr., Pittsville; Ray Dibble, Wisconsin Rapids; Norman Dibble, Seattle, Washington; Glen Dibble, Oakhurst, Calif.; and Fred Dibble, Pittsville.

There are 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
