Mrs. Beverly Jean Dunbar Tipton, age 67, of 4388 Old Asheville Highway, Flag Pond, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Mrs. Tipton was a native of King William, Virginia and had lived in Piney Flats before moving to Unicoi County in 1992. She was a daughter of the late Ernest and Lucille Mitchell Robinson. Mrs. Tipton retired from T.P.I., after thirty plus years of service. She enjoyed gardening with her flowers and spending time with her family and friends.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernie Robinson.
Survivors include: Husband, Blake Tipton; Three daughters, Betty Lane, Piney Flats, Beverly Bradley and husband Kenneth, Johnson City, Johnnie Sue Baker and husband Jeff, Bristol; Half-brother, Ricky Price, Colorado; Seven grandchildren, Chad Rhea, Jennifer Lane, Micah, Kaleb and Jacob Bradley, Bodhi and Ellie Baker; Three great grandchildren, Taylor Lane, Alex and Conner Fortner; Nephew, Ernest Junior Robinson, Virginia.
Funeral service for Mrs. Tipton will be held at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 20, 2010, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate. Music will be provided by Jeannie Ray, Jenny Moore, Jane Pate and Inez Chandler.
Committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chad Rhea, Bodhi Baker, Micah, Kaleb and Jacob Bradley and nephews, Jeff and Jimmy Crawford. Family, minister, pallbearers and friends are requested to meet at the funeral by 10:30 A.M. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
