James Billy Boatner; age 68, a native of Edinburg, Miss., and resident of Schriever, who died Sept. 28, 2000; religious services were held today at First Assembly of God Church in Thibodaux; burial was at New Hope Church Cemetery in Houma; husband of Myrtis Louise Burnham Boatner; father of Billy Dewayne Boatner of Thibodaux, Patricia Boatner Rodrigue of Schriever and Paula Boatner Van Allen of Bay City, Texas; and brother of Betty Massey of Clarksdale, Miss.; also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; preceded in death by his parents, James Emmette and Nannie King Boatner; brothers, King and O.B. Boatner; and sisters, Etta Boatner Massey and Shelby Jean Carpenter; member of First Assembly of God Church in Thibodaux; enjoyed fishing and hunting; employed by McDermott; Samart Funeral Home and Crematorium of Houma
