Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church here [in Crosbyton]. Officiating will be the Rev. Payton Fullingim of Lubbock and the Rev. Ernest Stewart, pastor. Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery directed by King Funeral Home.
A native of Knoxville, Tenn., he moved here [i.e., Crosbyton] in 1910. He had farming and ranching interests until his retirement several years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; a son, R.J. of Long Beach, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Jones of Redondo Beach, Calif., two brothers, Hembree of Levelland and Edgar of Lubbock; five sisters, Mrs. Mammie Paschal of Clovis, Mrs. Wallace Heathington of Ralls, Mrs. Mary Lee Chance of Crosbyton, Mrs. Asalee Reed and Mrs. O.B. Williams, both of Lubbock; and two grandchildren.
