THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, April 20, 1920: 'TWO OLD RESIDENTS DIE AT BLOSSOM SUNDAY - Two aged women of Blossom, one of them the widow of an old settler of this section and the other the wife of an old resident of the county who is still living, died at their homes Sunday evening. Mrs. Mary McCabe Warren, eighty years old, died at 6 o'clock. she had been in bad health several months.
She was born in Florence, Ala., and came to Texas in childhood, with her parents, who located in Red River county. She was married twice, her first husband being Capt. Beauchamp. They moved to Lamar County directly after their marriage, locating at the present site of Blossom, where they resided until his death. Her second marriage was to A. G. Warren, and they lived a number of years south of Paris, where he was engaged in farming. She is survived by a son, Dr. A. T. B. Beauchamp of the first marriage and by a daughter, Mrs. John Skaggs of the second marriage, both of whom reside at Blossom. The funeral service was held at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon conducted by Rev. Luther Rees, and the remains were brought to Evergreen cemetery for burial. They were accompanied by a large number of friends and old residents of the town. [NOTE: According to her Texas Death Certificate, her middle name was Francis.]
Mrs. Elizabeth Castleberry, the wife of D. C. Castleberry, aged 72 years, died at her home at 3 o'clock after an illness of several weeks. She was born in Georgia and had lived in Lamar county about forty years. She was the second wife of her husband, for many years a well known farmer, who survives her. She did not leave any children of her own, but is survived by two step sons, J. E. Castleberry of Paris and Will Castleberry of Pampa, and by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Clay Young of Blossom. The funeral service was held at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. H. Wright of West Paris, and was attended by a large number of friends.' Transcribed by Debra Usry.
