Edward W. Wolfe, 65, of Vestaburg, Pa., died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born February 28, 1945, in Vestaburg, a son of the late Raymond and Anna Wolfe, and husband of the late Wilma Lee (Walters) Wolfe.
Mr. Wolfe was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army. He was a millwright prior to his retirement from U.S. Steel, Pittsburgh.
Edward was a handyman who found joy in fixing things. He liked to play chess, but his greatest enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called him "Pappy"
Surviving are the following daughters: Rhonda Renee' Wolfe, Denene Renee' Wolfe (Rodney); sons: Edward W., Jr. (Eve), Christopher Michael (Tabatha) and Timothy Allen Wolfe; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and Bruce Conklin who was like a son to Edward.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 until 8 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday in FRANK BURKUS FUNERAL HOME, 26 Mill St., Millsboro.
Burial to take place in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, at the convenience of the family.
Military rites will be accorded graveside by Hanson Cole Post 391.
