She came to Texas in 1865 with her family. Both her mother and twin sister both died in an malaria outbreak in 1867 along the Trinity River. They lived in a community named Sandtown near the Cook's Ferry river crossing.

Frances Jane Childs , born 11 Jun 1850 - d. 25 Dec 1867
They are not listed on the 1850 Bradley Co., ARK census taken on 17 Oct 1850, but other researchers list them as born in 1850
