MRS. EMILY WINTERHALTER

MRS. EMILY WINTERHALTER, Grand Rapids resident for 59 years, died early Sunday morning at the home of her son, JOSEPH, near Sparta. She was 79 years old.

Born in Germany, Mrs. Winterhalter was a charter member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Grand Rapids and was a member of the Altar Society. She also held membership in the Third Order of St. Francis, a lay order of the Catholic Church.

Besides Joseph, she is survived by five other sons, EDWARD of Chicago, ALFRED, HENRY, LOUIS and ARTHUR WINTERHALTER, all of Grand Rapids; two daughters, MRS. FRANK HANSKNECHT of Grand Rapids and MRS. CHARLES BUTTERFIELD of Santa Barbara, Cal.; 24 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, MRS. MARY SCHWEIKERT of Grand Rapids.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony's Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

WINTERHALTER - MRS. EMILY WINTERHALTER, aged 79, widow of CHARLES WINTERHALTER, died unexpectedly early Sunday morning at the home of her son, JOSEPH WINTERHALTER, near Sparta. She is survived by six sons, EDWARD of Chicago, JOSEPH, ALFRED, HENRY, LOUIS and ARTHUR WINTERHALTER, all of Grand Rapids; two daughters, MRS. FRANK HANSKNECHT of Grand Rapids, MRS. CHARLES BUTTERFIELD of Santa Barbara, Cal., 24 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister, MRS. MARY SCHWEIKERT. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Anthony's Church. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Winterhalter reposes at the Alt Mortuary, where members of the Third Order of St. Francis, the Altar Society and friends will recite the Rosary Tuesday evening at 8:30.
