Dennis Earl Warden, 64, died Tuesday (June 15, 2010) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. A funeral service for Dennis will be held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, June 18, 2010, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third Street NE, Mason City, with Major Vickie Cole of the Salvation Army in Mason City officiating. Burial will be the Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time today, Friday at the chapel. A celebration of life service for Dennis will also be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the pond in the Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in C/O Jennifer Morris, P.O. Box 162, Union, Iowa 50258. Dennis Earl Warden was born on June 7, 1946, in Marshalltown, the son of Alfred and Dolores (Bousum) Warden. Dennis attended and received his education in the Marshalltown school system. Dennis was united in marriage to Diane Brindle on September 7, 1974 in Union, Iowa. Dennis was a security guard for Fisher Control and KIOWA in Marshalltown and for Lewis Security systems in Mason City for seven years until his health failed him. He was united in marriage to Linda Noble on November 9, 1996, in Clear Lake. Dennis enjoyed collecting coins, was an avid Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants fan, and was a WWE wrestling fan, and feeding ducks and deer in East Park in Mason City. Dennis not only enjoyed but became good friends with local martial arts kick boxer Roman Ott, but Dennis's great love and enjoyment was his children and grandchildren. One of Dennis' greatest goals was walking his daughter Jennifer down the aisle on her wedding day in 2009. Dennis was very active in many areas of ministry in the Salvation Army church which included, member of the Corps council, men's fellowship ministries, League of Mercy, director Salvation Army disaster services, Adventure Corps leader, driver for the Salvation Army, and Christmas Kettles, River City CB club, and was very active in the Find-A-Grave a web site involved in Genealogy. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Kyle (Kelly) Warden, of Casper, Wyoming, and Jennifer (Matt) Morris, of Union, Iowa; stepchildren, John (Kathy) Brass, of Mason City, and Tracy (Bob) Hoveland, of Mason City; nine grandchildren, Lilyann and Jerrod Warden, Jordan (Sam) Hoveland, Emily and Michael Hoveland, Jessica, Ashley, Nathan, and Geoffrey Brass; a step-great-grandchild; his brother, Lynn Warden, of Albion; his sister, Nancy Warden, of Toledo; special friend, Cindy Mogk, of Mason City; and his two special dogs, Cassidy and Pooh; as well as many nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members and friends.
