James Lewis Lawson, Jr., 53, of Memphis, died July 9, 2010. He was a very active member of Schoolfield Baptist Church for 39 years. He enjoyed God's calling to preach the gospel and taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of TN Army National Guard for eight years. Mr. Lawson was employed for 32 years by Power & Telephone Supply. He participated in Special Kids & Families Plane Pull through his employer and coached Boy's Varsity Basketball for Frayser Academy of Christian Education. Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Belinda, of 32 years. He leaves a sister, Bonita (Richard) Moore; brothers, DeWayne (Dorinda) Shands and Phillip (Sandra) Shands. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorthy Lawson, father James Lewis Lawson and sister Lovern Hood. Visitation will be 2 pm Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Roller Family Funeral Home with a 3 pm service following. Burial will be at Memory Hill Gardens.
