ENID — Mary Beth Allen, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center in Enid. She was 68.
Mary Beth was born on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1941, to Floyd R. Brown and Mary L. Hairgrove Brown in Goose Creek, Texas. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1960. After graduation she joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Ord. Mary Beth graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree. She worked as an R.N. in San Bernadino, Calif., and Huntsville, Ala. She retired and moved back to Ponca City in 2005 after the loss of her husband, Wes.
Mary Beth was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, playing games, watching NASCAR and sports and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving and generous person and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Jared Huntley of San Bernadino, Calif.; mother, Mary Brown; sister, Jeannie and her husband Bob Kammiller of Ponca City; brother, Floyd and his wife Martha Brown of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Robert and his wife Irma Brown of Stillwater; father-in-law, Ora Hiskett; sisters-in-law, Marsha Hiskett, Linda Cowley and her husband Tom; stepson, Wes Allen and his wife Nicole; stepdaughter, Annette Allen; two grandsons, Zach and Charles Allen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wes Allen; father, Floyd Brown; and mother-in-law, Helen Hiskett.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 12, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Michalicka, celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The vigil will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
Casket bearers will be Chris Brown, Dale Brown, Chance Owens, Caleb Owens, Darren Sloan and Ronnie Shelton.
