Mrs. Hedwig Korolewski
Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont for Mrs. Hedwig Korolewski, 82, formerly of 831 Redwood Dr.
Mrs. Korolewski died of a heart condition at St. Joseph’s Home Monday. She had lived there for the past two years.
Born Oct. 4, 1888, in Silver Lake Township, she married her first husband, Anton Borowiak, Sept. 22, 1908 in East Chain. The couple farmed in Silver Lake Township until retiring to Fairmont in 1943. He died in 1945.
Mrs. Korolewski married her second husband, John Korolewski, Aug. 20, 1959, in Fairmont. He died in 1969.
She is survived by three sons including Andrew Borowiak of Caledonia, Calif. and Albert and Sylvester Borowiak, both of Fairmont; two daughters including Mrs. LeRoy Leeper of St. Paul and Mrs. Warren Brockman of Fairmont; one brother, Peter Pytleski of Fairmont; two sisters including Mrs. Ed Petrowiak of Fairmont, and Sister Hedwig, a nun, of Winona; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A parish rosary is scheduled 8 p.m. tonight at Goodell Funeral Home in Fairmont. A rosary sponsored by the Catholic Daughters, of which Mrs. Korolewski was a member, was to have been 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Visitation will be until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, East Chain.
