His service papers indicate he was at the Marine Hospital in January of 1862 and transferred from Co. B Light Artillery, to Co. A Light artillery according to Gen. Halleck's orders. He was later at the hospital in Rolla, Missori in May of 1863 and in private residence in June.
He was mustered out at Benton Barracks, Missouri 24 Aug 1863.
