Emelia Carrio was born in Gartz Rugen Island Germany. She married Santiago M. Carrio from Leori Parish Gijon Spain. They met and married in New York City. It is not know when they moved to Fernandina but they were living here in the mid 1800's. Emelia and Santiago had four children. They are Manuel Jose Carrio (never married and also buried in St. Peter's cemetery) Francis Maria Carrio, virginia Carrio and Sophie Carrio. All of the daughters with the exception of Sophie are buried in St. Peter's.
