Ankles was born in Anderson, Texas, on April 4, 1941, to Amos Jr. and Minnie Pratt Allen. He was a graduate of Central High School class of 1959 a retired laborer from MonBahto/Sterling Chemical and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Rodrick Devonne Allen Jr. and his father.
He is survived by his wife, Celestine Allen; sons, Reginald Wayne Wiley and Rodrick Devonrie Allen Sr.; daughter, Yolanda Yvette Allen; grandchildren Dasdevonne Wayne Allen, Devpnna Allen, Regina Wiley and Annquia
Wiley; mother, Minnie Jackson; sisters, Betty Davis and Freddie Mae Phillips; mother in law, Ellen Wiley all of Galveston; host uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
