Funeral services were help here Monday, Aug 3, in Central Christian Churchof Mrs. R.R. Alexander, longtime resident of Nocona. She was 91. She died Saturday, Aug. 1, in her apartment home at Dallas. Her husband owned Alexander's Stoar here for many years before his death.It was later operated by the late Kent Alexander. Burial was in Nocona Cemetery.
Born July 31, 1873 Mrs. Alexander came to Nocona when she was about 16 years old. She was In community affairs here and was a charter member of the Central Christian Church where her father was the first pastor. She was also an active member in the Garden Club and Thursday Literary Club.
Surviving are a son , Olen V Alexander of Memphis, Tex; two daughters, Mrs. W C Ready of Dallas, Mrs. C W Shorpshire of Houston; a sister Mrs. Cora Alexander of Bonham, two grandsons, Neil Alexander of Fort Worth and Reece Alexander of Ohio; and a granddaughter, Mrs. Joza Jean Hannon of Austin. { Nocona News 13 Aug 1964}
