Born some years prior to the civil war, she lost a daughter in childhood, and no known relatives are living.
Mrs Cook came to NM in 1885 to become the cook at the headquarters of the Sierra Land & Cattle Co at Kingston in Sierra county.
In 1890 she came to Albuquerque to work in the household of Frank W Clancy, attorney of the Territorial second district. She also served in the household of the late J. B. Herndon.
in 1906 she became the housekeeper for H B. Henning, and the late E Dana Johnson, then editors of the Albuquerque Journal, and continued after Hening's marriage. She made her home with the Jennings for more than forty years.
