Actor. He was a Slovakian-born American actor who was most recognized in the role of "Fleet Captain Garth of Izar" in one episode of the 1969 third season of the television science fiction series "Star Trek: The Original Series." Born in what was then Czechoslovakia, his family escaped in 1939 the devastation of World War II in Europe, coming to Canada then the United States. He became a United States citizen and served in the Army for two years. His television credits include seven episodes of F.B.I., three episodes in "Mission: Impossible," "Mannix" and "Bonanza," four episodes in "The Virginian," six episodes of "Gunsmoke," and dozens more with one-episode guest appearances. For feature films, he appeared in "The Chase" in 1966, "In Like Flint" in 1967, "Madigan" in 1968, "Zig Zag" in 1970, and "Fuzz" in 1972. In 1963, he not only acted in a role but co-wrote the film drama "Strike Me Deadly. He wrote and directed "Do Not Throw Cushion Into the Ring" in 1970 and "The Honkers" in 1972. He died of a heart condition at age 37 while attending the Cannes Film Festival in France.
