Irene A. (Neves) Carr, 69, of New Bedford, died July 1, 2010, at home after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John and Albertina (Leitao) Neves, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was an active member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. Her faith and kind spirit brought great joy and happiness to everyone she met.
Survivors include 2 sons, Eric Carr of Randolph, NJ and Jason Galleano and his wife, Elizabeth of New Bedford; a daughter, Danielle Galleano of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Albert Neves and his wife, Beverly of Bowling Green, KY and Joseph Neves and his wife, Ada of Austin, TX; 2 sisters, Lolita Wiley and Avis Duckett, both of New Bedford; 8 grandchildren, Jason, Chelsea, Isiah, Drystina, Jack, Christian, Jeremiah and Nehjea; 3 sisters-in-law, Katherine Neves, Sandra Neves and Linda Neves; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late George Neves and John Neves, Jr.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 6th at 10 AM in the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 532 County St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, July 5th from 4-8 PM in the Saunder-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
