Heman Johnson Geer was 1st married to Oregon wagon train pioneer Cynthia Ann Eoff on 12 Oct 1848 in Marion County, Oregon Territory. Cynthia arrived in Oregon Territory with her parents in 1847 at age 14. Cynthia & Heman J Geer were parents to 4 children:
1. Theodore Thurston Geer 1851-1924.
2. Theodosia Caroline Geer 1853-.
3. Arthur Geer 1855-1857.
4. Ralph Cary Geer 1858-1872.

Files on Ancestry.com claim that Heman was born in Zeno, Madison Co., OH. There is no Zeno in Madison Co., OH. I don't know if there USED to be but there isn't one now. There is a Zeno in Muskingam Co., OH. Muskingum Co. and Madison Co. are quite a ways apart. I do not know if Muskingum Co. is for sure the right place of birth for Heman. That is another maybe.
Files on Ancestry.com also claim that Heman's first wife, Cynthia, died in CA. Heman and Cynthia were together on the 1860 census in or near Silverton, Marion Co., OR.

Heman and his second wife, Ann Duncan Geer, had two children together, Judd and Blaine.

Gravesite Details

Heman is more than likely buried in Cove Cemetery but nobody has ever been able to find anything to prove that so it remains a maybe. Another possibility would be he was buried by his his parents and his grave went unmarked.
