Helen L. Freimuth, 80, of Elverson, formerly of Exton, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Tel Hai Retirement Community after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was the beloved wife of Paul H. Freimuth, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in Germantown, she was the daughter of the late Stanley L. and Helen Pyle Healy.

She was a 1948 graduate of Germantown High School.

She worked at Philadelphia Electric, where she met her husband, Paul, then worked at Wyeth Laboratories in Radnor and subsequently as a homemaker.

Helen was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lionville where she sang in the church choir and was a charter member of the handbell choir. She also used her talents as a seamstress to make paraments for the altar as well as robes for the choir.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles, camping and traveling.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Freimuth is survived by her daughters, Linda L. Stevens and her husband, Jeff, of Downingtown, and Sheila A. F. Wetzel and her husband, Rick, of Cochranville. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth J. Clifford of Drexel Hill; and by grandsons, Scott and Karl Stevens, at home.

She was predeceased by her sister, Kathryn M. Preston.

A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 104 S. Village Ave., Lionville, where family and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall.

Memorial contributions may be made in Helen's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter, 399 Market St. Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106; or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Worship and Music Fund, 104 S. Village Ave., Exton, PA 19341.
