Killed By Fall
Miller, S.D., Sept. 2 - (AP) - Dell Willis, about 80, was killed here Saturday in a fall from a hayrack on the John B. Heilman Sr. farm 23 miles south of here. Willis had been working on the Heilman place during this year.
Survived by one son, Mr. Willis has no family in the Miller region.

Miller - Dell Willis, about 80, was killed in a fall from a hayrack at the J. B. Heilman, Sr., farm home about 23 miles south of here Saturday afternoon.
Willis had been working for Heilman during the past year. He no survivors in this vicinity.
Funeral arrangements were complete early this week, pending arrival of relatives. There are tentative plans for services in the Miller Methodist Church and the Rosehill Church, south of Wessington. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery.

Miller - Funeral services were held this Thursday morning, at the Reck Funeral Home in Miller for Del Willis. The Rev. Dwayne Knight had charge of the services.
A short service also followed at the Rose Hill Church south of Wessington. Burial was made in the cemetery there.
Delbert Fargo Willis [sic] was born March 9, 1871, at Green Bay, Wis. He married Temperance Ovilla [sic] at Turtle Lake, Wis., in 1901 [sic]. He came to Miller about 1924. He lived for a number of years at the Dale Irwin farm south of Wessington and worked on farms near Miller for many years. He fell from a hayrack at the John Heilman, sr., farm south of Miller August 30. A broken neck caused death.
Survivors are: one son, Delbert, Mason City, Ia., and six stepchildren. They are: Louis and Joseph, Moclips, Wash.; Earl, also of Washington; Charles of Janesville, Wis.; M. L. Mayo, Mason City, Ia.; and Mrs. John D. Luhman, Zumbrota, Minn.

He married Temperance Olivia Payson 9 Apr 1903 in Clear Lake, Polk, Wisconsin.
