George Earl Ackley is reported by an Allen Ackley to have been born in Livingston, Iowa. It should be noted that this town did once exist in southwest Appanoose County, Iowa (at the time George was born, at least), but has long since become defunct, for lack of a better word. That is why it does not exist on modern maps and listings. The term Livingston should NOT be considered to be a township name, as that would not be correct. Certain Ancestry.com census report summaries do not differentiate between towns and townships in Iowa, leading to mistaken locations being attributed.
