Richard Flaaen, 54, Dickinson, died Nov. 2, 1997, in a Dickinson hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. MST Thursday, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson. Burial will be in Rainy Butte Lutheran Cemetery, rural New England.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; three daughters, Rhonda Richey of Tucson, Ariz., Raquel Flaaen of Kenai, Alaska, and Kathy Grice of Golden Valley, Minn.; one son, Telly Rykowski of Castle Rock, Colo.; five sisters, Lois Jung of Junction City, Kan., Doris Rogness of Watford City, Alice Mellmer of New England, Sandy Hagemeister of Dickinson and Joyce Krohmer of Froid, Mont.; four brothers, Roy and Helmer, both of St. Louis, Mo., Marvin of Fayett Hill, S.C., and Arthur of Junction City.
