Funeral services will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taft Ward Chapel on the corner of Church and A Streets, on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. for Taft resident, Samuel Verl Pollock, 63. The Bishop of the Taft Ward will conduct the service and burial will follow in the West Side District Cemetery.

Mr. Pollock was born in San Fernando on July 15, 1946 and passed away at his home in Taft on June 28, 2010.

He married the former KS on September 1, 1972 in St. George, Utah. The Pollocks have lived in Taft for the last thirteen and a half years. Mr. Pollock had been employed by Keysor Century Corporation for over 32 years. He was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Verl and Glenna Pollock and a son, Benjamin Pollock. Mr. Pollock is survived by his wife, his children, his sisters, his brother, 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

There are no visitation hours scheduled and the arrangements are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
