Eva A. Barnett, 91, of Hamilton , died in the Hico City Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 16, following a short illness. Funeral services were held in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, Dec. 20, with Rev. Tim Moody officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnett was born in Hamilton on Oct. 15, 1896, the daughter of the late W. A. and Mary Harris Hodges. She had lived most of her life in the Hamilton area. On Jan. 15, 1914, she married Marion Earl Barnett. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1979. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Barnett was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton.

Survivors include eight children, Adelle Harris, Arvete Dark, Marie Stifflemire, Merida Barnerr, Erwin Barnett, Edmond Barnett and Jenna V. James of Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Bennie Walker and Mrs. Laura Harris; two half sisters; a half brother; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. One grandchild preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Tony James, Pat James, Danny Barnett, Max Barnett, Craig Hurt and Mike Bailey.
