John F. Blanchard, 82, of Warrenville passed away Friday, May 4, 2001 at his residence.
    He was born January 18, 1919 in Oak Park, IL.
    He was a retired carpenter and owner of Blanchard Construction Co., Warrenville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as a pilot/mechanic in the Philippines. He was an avid gardener and fisherman and a Life member of the NRA. Mr. Blanchard was an Honorary member of the Warrenville VFW Post 8081.
    Survivors include his wife, June A. Blanchard of Warrenville; his children, Penny (Ron) Sanchez of Nevada City, California, John Jr. Blanchard of Mentern, Colo., Linda (Emory) Schmidt of Bagley, Minn, Janice (Edward) Kraft of Almond, WI and Barbara (Robert) Doporcyk of Sleepy Hollow, IL; a brother, Bernard Blanchard of Berwyn, IL; 12 grandchildren, Chris, Matt, Fawn, Brenda, Kimberly, Melissa, Kurt, Patricia, Ashley, Carley, Lindsey and Allie; four great grandchildren; and a Godchild.
    He was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest; and a sister, Dorothy.
    Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 8, 2001 in the Leonard Memorial Home, Ltd, 3S532 Batavia Rd., Warrenville with Rev. David R. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Warrenville Cemetery.
    Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday, May 7, 2001 in the funeral home.
