Salvatore changed his name to Sonny Vincent Wilson when he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada from Brooklyn, New York. Sonny worked at the Sands and at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He was working at the MGM Grand at the time that it burned (killing 84 people and injuring 674 people) on 21 Nov 1980. At the time of his retirement, he was working as the casino manager of the Aladdin Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
