Mama was the first child of six children born to Irving and Gertrude 'Dombrowski' Stanford. But she was the third child of Gertrude's because she already had an older brother and sister from her mother's first marriage to Ernest Law. He, Ernest, died from a gun accident.
Mama was very close to her parents and seven siblings. No doubt that some of her happiest moments were when she was around them.
She married Floyd McDaniel in 1959 and they had five children through the years. Their children are Ronnie, Barbara, Linda, Billy, and Tommy. In 1973 Floyd McDaniel was in a car accident that took his life. She was with him when he took his last breath in the ambulance.
Mama then married Bobby Davis and they bought land and built a home out in the country. They were together for many years but the marriage sadly ended with a divorce.
Later years she married Alan Herring. She was very happy. Such a beautiful and strong woman.
Cancer took you away from us mama and at such a young age. You were always there for any of us and we love and miss you so very much.
You could not have been a stronger person and especially in the last year of your life. You even put us first then.
I hope that if something like that happens to me that I can have half the strength that you had.
How I so wish you were healthy and still here mama. My heart is still broken with your passing.
