Thelma Oliver "Puddin" Davis, a retired teacher and resident of Baton Rouge, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 70 and a native of Baton Rouge.

Viewing at Capital Funeral Home, 3450 North St. Visiting resumes at Wesley United Methodist Church, 544 Government St., until religious service, conducted by the Rev. E. Andrew Goff.

She is survived by her husband, Ulysses G. Davis; two daughters, Katrina L. Davis and Jacalyn D. Dixon; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Keith and Lisa L. Davis; and four grandchildren, Jonathan E. Dixon, Joshua E. Dixon, Tasha D. Dixon and Troy L. Davis.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and a host of aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Donald Aikens, Kermit Ray Brown, Bryon Griffin, John Domingue, Jim Lathan and Leo Washington. Honorary pallbearers are Wesley United Methodist Church Family, McKinley Sr. High School class of 1951, Melvin Steele, Dr. Huel D. Perkins, Jesse Sanders, George Cornell, Henry Essex, Dr. Peter Dawson M.D., attorney A. Stanley Mitchell II, George Hillard, Samuel Christy, Leo Cook and George Sanders.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Church Women United Baton Rouge District, the Wesley Unit of United Methodist Women, Sanctuary Choir of Wesley United Methodist Church, Silhouettes of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Silhouettes of Baton Rouge Alumni Chapter, South Hill Pokeno Club, Queen of Hearts Pokeno Club, Educators of Yesteryears and AARP. She was a 1951 graduate of McKinley Senior High School.
