Pine Hill - Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine H. Berry, 70, of 2031 Slab Landing Road, Pine Hill, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Double Branch Baptist Church in Pine Hill, with the Rev. David Royster and the Rev. Lenaire Singleton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hammond Fralick, Rusty Fogle, Greg Berry, Al Berry, Jimmy Murden and Terry Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Double Branch Baptist Church. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Mrs. Berry died Wednesday, Nov. 3, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. She was born Nov. 5, 1933, in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Prentice Howard Herndon and the late Ruth Etheridge Herndon. She was retired from Life of Georgia Insurance Company. She was a member of Double Branch Baptist Church, the Senior Adult Sunday School class, and a member of the W.M.U. Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by a brother, Joe H. Herndon, and a son, Clyde Reginald Berry. Survivors include her husband, Clyde F. Berry of Pine Hill; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy B. and Maynard K. Whetstone, and Rhonda B. and William O. Corder III, all of Pine Hill; one son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Mitzi Berry of Canaan; nine grandchildren, Kent Whetstone, Amy Whetstone, Tabitha Berry, Brad L. Whetstone, Britni Berry, Jesse Corder, Taylor Brewington, Brandon Berry and Logan Corder; and one great-granddaughter, Amber Whetstone. Friends may call at the residence, 2031 Slab Landing Road, Neeses, and at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
