Winters was employed by the company in the making of metal parts for golf clubs, and was in the act of polishing up one of these pieces on an emery wheel when the accident occurred.
According to the best information obtainable from those in the vicinity, the part on which Winters was working caught between the emery wheel and the guard of the wheel. This caused the wheel to go to pieces and, as it whirled rapidly about, a piece was thrown violently against Winters, striking him in the chest and causing his death.
Surviving are his widow, Carrie; a son; and a daughter.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at the residence. Burial will be in Tippecanoe City.
