Ledyard - Joel B. Bailey, 75, died of a heart attack Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Fennema.
He was married June 7, 1911 to Grace Hartzell, Britt, who preceded him in death in March, 1960. H grew up and was educated at Britt.
He is survived by one son, Morris, Cedar Rapids, and two daughters, Mrs. F. W. Conway, McLean, Va., and Mrs. William Fennena, Ledyard; three sisters, Mrs. F. E. Heacox, Britt, Mrs. W, F. Fillenworth, Britt, and Miss Alice Bailey, St. Paul, Minn., and 10 grandchildren.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Ofman Chapel, Britt, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. The Rev. Victor Vriesen will officiate at both services.

Committal services for Joel Bailey, 75, will be held at Greenwood cemetery her at 3 p.m. Monday. He died Friday morning at Bancroft.
Funeral services will be held in Britt Monday morning, and the body will then be brought here for burial.
Mr. Bailey had lived at 2016 College St. until a couple of months ago, when he moved to Britt. His wife, Grace Bailey, died Mar. 4 this year.
He was a former publisher of the Cedar Bulletin in Cedar Falls. The Baileys had sold out last October because of ill health. They were married June 7, 1911 at Britt. Ia, and lived there until they went into the newspaper business.
Thye had worked in several towns until they decided to settle in Orange City, where they published a weekly newspaper 20 years. They moved to Cedar Falls 20 years ago to give their children the benefits of educational facilities here. The Baileys owned the College Hill print shop 20 years, and published the Cedar Bulletin 15 years.
Survivors include a son and two daughters: Morris L., Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Alice Conway, Washington, D.C.; and Mrs. Joeldine Fenema [sic], Ledyard. A daughter, Helen Virginia, died in childhood. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren.

He married Grace Viola Hartzell 7 Jun 1911 in Britt, Hancock, Iowa.
