My 3rd great Uncle Milton served with his brother Wilson and brother-in-law, Henry Pittman, in the Twelfth Regiment Kansas Volunteers - Infantry, Company C, mustered in Osawatomie, KS Aug. 22, 1862; Mustered out with reg. June 30, 1865.
"He served in the Civil War from the state of Kansas in 1862 on the Union side. I have a map of the complex that he drew to show his family where he was. Even the 'Out-house' was on the map, but, it wasn't called an 'out-house' - it was much more of a functional name! I also have a copy of his Army discharge papers that were among Lucinda's belongings when she died.
"Milton and Lucinda moved to Nebraska when Nora, their oldest daughter, was 2 years old. This would be 1875. They had my 2nd great Grandmother in 1876 and Lucinda was pregnant when Milton died, October of 1877, in Nemaha County, Nebraska. This was 2 months before Eda Jane, their 3rd child was born.
