Second wife of Robert L. Bassett; married 02 Dec 1860 at Beaver Dam. Mary was a sister of Robert's first wife.

Dodge County Citizen 24 Nov 1870:

Deceased-- Last Friday, Mrs. Mary Bassett, died at the residence of her brother-in-law, in Hastings, Minn. She was well and favorably known in this vicinity for her benevolence and many christian virtues, and her demise will be deeply regretted by her large circle of friends. Her brother, Mr. Geo. L. Stultz, was expected here yesterday with the remains. She was teaching school in Hastings.
