Mabel Agnes Hall, 88, of Eden, died Monday, May 18, 2009, in Eden.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20 at Eden Cemetery in Eden with Rev. Mark Bethune and Rev. Flo Perez officiating.
She was born April 10, 1921, in Concho County, to James Frank Leatherwood and Mattie Kate (New) Leatherwood. She married Roscoe Lamar (R.L.) Hall Dec. 24, 1941 in Eden.
After their marriage, they moved to California where R.L. was stationed for military service. They moved back to Eden and owned and operated the Eden Laundry Service for 27 years. They retired in 1975 and moved to Brady Lake. She moved back to Eden in 1987, to live the remainder of her life. She lived in the Eden area most of her life. She loved her church and community and was an active volunteer with the Ladies Fireman Auxiliary. She was a wonderful woman that was loved and admired by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eden.
Survivors include a sister Nell Maddoux of Eden; a sister-in-law, Marion Hall of Austin and many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant brother; two infant sisters; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Eva Myrl Leatherwood, Mildred Cobb and husband, Omey Spence Cobb and Dorothy Prosise and husband, Lewis Prosise; two brothers, B.Z. (Buzz) Leatherwood and wife, Erna Mae and Everett Leatherwood and wife, Irene; two brothersin-law, Clinton Maddoux and Woodrow Hall; a sister-in-law, Geneva Meyers and husband, Alvin Meyers; two nephews, Ray Allen Maddoux and James Wesley Maddoux and four nieces, Dilia Leatherwood, Kay Maddoux, Rita Prosise and Jan Prosise.
Pallbearers were Mike Carnine, Michael Mathis, James Mathis, Frank Prosise, Jr., David Cornelius and Martin Leatherwood. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Prosise, Sr., Bob Cude, Robert Leatherwood, Xander Leatherwood and Dr. W.W. Leatherwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eden Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of choice. Arrangements were entrusted to Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.
