Joseph Ashkennas dies in Land of Strangers
Came to Butte Several Months Ago With His Family
Joseph Ashkennas, aged 40 years, died yesterday afternoon at his home 133 West Park Street. He is survived by a wife and four small children. Mr. Ashkennas came to Butte about seven months ago at the request of his brother-in-law, Max Norris, who is a merchant tailor of the city.
The funeral will be held from White and Krebs' undertaking rooms this afternoon at 3:00 and ancient Hebrew funeral rites will be observed. Inernment will be made in the Jewish cemetery, owing to the fact that Mr. Ashkennas is a comparative stranger in Butte, members of the Jewish colony are respectufully requested to attend the funeral.
